Nestled amidst a small hilltop, Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple exhibits Pallava-style architecture. Built in the 8th century, the temple is also known as Thrikkaviyoor Mahadeva Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, devotees come to the temple to worship the three feet high Shivalinga, which have been carved out of a rock and enshrined in a square cave and Goddess Parvati.

Paliakkara Church, also known as St. George Orthodox Church, is one of the oldest churches and one of the best places to visit in Thiruvalla. The church exhibits the architecture of the medieval period, along with the mural paintings on the Eastern wall.
